Senior Backend Engineer, Java, APIs REST

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

• Design, define, and evolve REST APIs following OpenAPI specifications.

• Integrate legacy systems via DB2 using JDBC.

• Implement resilience mechanisms (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers) in distributed systems.

• Define and execute contract tests (consumer/provider) to ensure the stability of integrations.

• Ensure software quality through automated testing and continuous integration, collaborating with architecture and business teams.

• Work with architecture and business teams to ensure consistency in integrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4-5 years of backend development experience with Java (Spring Boot).

• Strong experience in designing REST APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger).

• Practical knowledge of integration with DB2 via JDBC.

• Experience implementing resilience patterns in distributed systems.

• Experience in contract testing (Pact, Spring Cloud Contract, or others).

• A profile focused on integration and robustness in critical environments.

• Experience in modernizing legacy systems.

• Knowledge of observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing).

• Experience in CI/CD and good DevOps practices.

• Familiarity with microservices-based architectures.
