Senior Backend Engineer – Export

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Collaborating with a staff engineer to analyze and resolve intricate Chromium issues.

• Taking ownership of the PDF accessibility post-processing pipeline and implementing features for exported PDFs.

• Developing monitoring and testing frameworks that detect changes in Chromium.

• Creating accessibility solutions that are robust against Chromium's frequent output modifications.

• Contributing to the wider challenges related to export infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Chromium or a similar browser rendering engine.

• Proficiency in C++ to navigate complex third-party codebases when necessary.

• Strong background as a Java backend engineer.

• Experienced in debugging layered systems where issues extend across multiple codebases and programming languages.

• Knowledge of PDF specifications or hands-on experience with PDF generation and post-processing.

• Familiarity with rendering pipelines, graphics programming, or print production systems.

• Proven experience in maintaining systems that frequently undergo changes in upstream dependencies.
