This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the critical path within the CLOB engine. Profile matching and orderbook hot paths, map settlement-sensitive state transitions, and implement enhancements to latency, throughput, and asynchronous engine flow, supported by benchmarks and production-grade evidence.
• Minimize lock contention while maintaining correctness. Troubleshoot concurrency issues, design safer queuing and backpressure mechanisms for orderbooks, and enhance the system's capacity to manage significantly more markets and order flow with reduced tail latency.
• Build with observability and safety in mind. Integrate improvements using pprof, metrics, logs, and traces. Establish rollback guarantees and narrower critical paths that facilitate easier detection, diagnosis, and resolution of production incidents.
• Analyze settlement risk. Comprehend how on-chain transaction effects influence off-chain exchange states, and create systems that correctly address crossed books, ghost fills, stale orders, cancel inconsistencies, and settlement edge cases.
• Optimize runtime performance. Decrease GC pressure, enhance CPU and memory allocation performance, and elevate Go runtime capabilities to meet the demands of a high-throughput exchange operating at scale.
• Resolve production incidents. Manage latency, correctness, and settlement-state incidents from end to end, ensuring follow-through that leaves the system demonstrably improved each time.
• Proven experience in developing low-latency backend systems in a production environment at scale.
• Strong skills in concurrency with a history of troubleshooting lock contention, race conditions, and async correctness challenges.
• Proficient in production-level Go and Rust.
• Extensive experience in observability: pprof, metrics, logs, and distributed tracing.
• Familiarity with exchange systems that engage with EVM or blockchain settlement layers.
• Solid foundation in computer science principles: algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and profiling.
• (Plus) Direct experience with matching engines or exchange infrastructure.
• (Plus) Understanding of the EVM transaction lifecycle: confirmations, reorgs, and the impact of on-chain state on off-chain systems.
• (Plus) Experience in tuning Go runtime and GC.
• (Plus) Knowledge of Redis, PostgreSQL, gRPC, and Protobuf.
• (Plus) Operational experience with Kubernetes and AWS in production environments.
• Competitive salary & equity
• Unlimited PTO
• Comprehensive Health, Vision, & Dental coverage
• 401k match
• Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, large display, & accessories
