Senior Backend Engineer, Distributed Systems

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and test high-performance systems that function effectively at a large scale.

• Acquire a deep understanding of current systems, identify complexities, and assess potential risks.

• Conduct code and design evaluations.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on projects in which you have participated.

• Create dependable systems incorporating monitoring, alerting, incident response, and shared ownership of on-call duties for mission-critical services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Proven experience working with a large suite of interconnected services.

• Outstanding software engineering skills, including design, unit testing, git usage, and code review.

• Proficient with AI coding tools (we utilize Anthropic); capable of using LLMs to significantly speed up delivery while maintaining code quality.

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (we use Google Cloud Platform).

• Skilled in database management, encompassing database schema design, efficient query crafting, basic DBA tasks, and knowledge of common databases.

• Ability to work collaboratively with technical partners; you will engage closely with other teams to establish requirements for your tasks and to make design decisions that impact our stack.
