Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and develop essential backend services and infrastructure that drive our observability platform, ensuring dependable, high-throughput data pipelines and APIs that developers rely on daily.

• Work in conjunction with open-source contributors and customers, addressing their challenges and integrating their feedback into our backend architecture and API design.

• Create and implement scalable backend systems capable of ingesting, processing, and querying petabytes of observability data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on backend development, preferably in building developer tools or infrastructure.

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js (experience with Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks is advantageous).

• Strong grasp of API design, distributed systems, and data modeling principles.

• Experience with Go is a bonus — you will occasionally contribute to services based on Go.

• Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• A genuine passion for open source and the developer community.

• Experience in developing developer tools and an understanding of how to design with developers in mind.
