This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the development, deployment, and monitoring of ChowNow’s backend applications.
• Collaborate with various teams to create new features with a focus on quality.
• Adhere to best practices and continuously enhance the development workflow.
• Reports to a Lead Software Engineer; No Direct Reports.
• You possess over 5 years of experience in building SaaS products, e-commerce platforms, or similar online systems, with a strong proficiency in Python.
• You utilize AI development tools to expedite your tasks, demonstrating sound judgment on their application and the necessity of human oversight.
• You have designed and versioned public or partner-facing APIs, ensuring a balance between backward compatibility and necessary evolution.
• You have experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and containerized deployments.
• You embrace experimentation and base decisions on data and evidence.
• You have built and maintained event-driven or asynchronous systems (e.g., message queues, background job processing) that manage high transaction volumes.
• You are enthusiastic about new technologies, capable of evaluating the maturity of the latest innovations, and adept at finding practical applications for them.
• You have identified and resolved production performance issues—such as slow queries, memory leaks, or scaling bottlenecks—and implemented measures to prevent future occurrences.
• You aim for continuous improvement and inspire others to develop quality software.
• You are comfortable with transparency and maintain open lines of communication, both within your team and with external stakeholders.
• You enjoy acting as the "glue" between product teams and infrastructure.
• You are passionate about observability, process enhancements, CI/CD, and increasing deployment frequency.
