Senior Backend Developer, Spark

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and enhance scalable Big Data solutions utilizing Apache Spark.

• Take the lead on technical decisions and contribute to the architecture of data processing solutions.

• Develop, maintain, and refine Big Data pipelines.

• Assist with data integration efforts across various systems and workstreams.

• Ensure data processing applications are performant, scalable, and reliable.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical and performance challenges.

• Collaborate with both technical and functional stakeholders to outline and implement solutions.

• Advocate for Agile development methodologies and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices.

• Mentor and provide support to junior and mid-level developers, disseminating best practices and technical insights.

• Investigate and encourage the adoption of new technologies, including AI-assisted development and automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in developing Big Data solutions using Apache Spark.

• Proficient in Scala (preferred) or Python programming.

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience in data modeling.

• Familiarity with Big Data platforms such as Azure Databricks, Apache Hive, or other Spark-based environments.

• Experience in Agile settings and applying CI/CD and DevOps best practices.

• Practical experience with tools such as Git, GitHub, SonarQube, and Nexus.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• A proactive approach with the capacity to work autonomously and take ownership of technical solutions.

• Proven experience in mentoring and supporting team members.

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
