Senior Backend, Applied AI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• In the role of Senior Backend Developer at Bridgit, you will take charge of designing, testing, and constructing new backend solutions, while also enhancing and maintaining our current systems.

• Your primary focus will be on developing scalable and reliable services that significantly impact construction teams.

• This position is ideal for an individual eager to innovate at the crossroads of robust backend engineering and applied AI. The services you develop will increasingly incorporate LLM-powered features, and we seek someone genuinely enthusiastic about exploring how technologies like large language models can improve both our product and the developer experience within our team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated backend proficiency with over 5 years of practical experience in developing high-quality software, showcasing a strong command of C#, Go, or another modern backend language (and a willingness to learn our technology stack if necessary).

• Expertise in system design, with the ability to architect and build scalable, distributed systems and clearly communicate your design choices.

• A data-driven approach, possessing extensive experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, along with an understanding of how to design for both performance and reliability; bonus points for experience with PostgreSQL or Redis.

• A product-focused and collaborative mindset, thriving in product-oriented environments, and having actual experience deploying and maintaining services in a production setting.

• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar, with an enthusiasm for the transformative capabilities of AI in software development.

• A curious and growth-oriented disposition, staying updated with the latest technologies and practices, sharing knowledge freely, and believing in collective team growth.

• [Nice to have] Practical experience with applied AI and LLMs, having built tangible solutions using Claude, OpenAI, or other significant LLMs, rather than just experimenting in a notebook.

• [Nice to have] Experience with production LLM integration, having designed backend systems that incorporate LLM capabilities into production workflows.
