Senior Back-End Engineer, Node.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Create and develop backend microservices tailored for the squad’s modules, including Identity/RBAC/MFA, number search, purchase and porting, onboarding automation, CDR, and billing pipelines.

• Connect with external carriers, telecoms, and third-party APIs such as Operator Connect, number/porting providers, ServiceNow, and payment and billing systems.

• Execute event-driven processes and manage long-running workflows utilizing Kafka and Temporal.

• Write automated tests, engage in code reviews, and adhere to CI/CD methodologies.

• Work collaboratively with Business Analysts to enhance requirements and define acceptance criteria.

• Partner with Frontend Engineers to establish and uphold API contracts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend development using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Strong expertise in microservices architecture and API design, including REST and GraphQL.

• Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, along with schema and data modeling.

• Demonstrated history of integrating third-party and external APIs.

• Practical experience with event-driven systems, particularly Kafka.

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Temporal.io.

• Skilled in containerization and orchestration via Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.

• Proficiency in English at B2 level or above.

• Preferred: AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer), certifications related to Node.js, and experience with VoIP/telecom systems (SIP, signaling, voice infrastructure).
