Senior Back End Engineer, AI Features

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and launch innovative user-facing features utilizing large language models (LLMs).

• Take ownership of significant product initiatives from inception to execution, collaborating with a small, dynamic team.

• Engage closely with Product and Design teams to define and develop new products and features.

• Integrate third-party APIs such as OpenAI and Google, while exploring new capabilities of models.

• Contribute to our codebases using Ruby on Rails.

• Write maintainable, high-quality code that includes robust test coverage.

• Mentor fellow engineers through code reviews and design discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in building software products from start to finish.

• Profound expertise in Ruby on Rails or another comparable backend language.

• Proven track record in delivering zero-to-one products either as a solo engineer or a team leader.

• Experience working with LLM providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across various disciplines.

• Prior experience in a startup environment is highly preferred.

• Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of prompt engineering or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

• Previous work on family-facing or consumer social products.
