Senior Architect – Distributed Data Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and develop architectures that prioritize API-first and event-driven approaches to facilitate scalable, real-time communication within systems.

• Architect integration methodologies, including REST/gRPC APIs, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven workflows across distributed environments.

• Establish and uphold data contracts, schemas, and interface standards to guarantee consistent and reliable data exchange among various domains.

• Focus on resilience in distributed systems, addressing issues such as duplicate processing, managing retries and replays, and ensuring fault tolerance.

• Drive the modernization of outdated integrations by minimizing point-to-point dependencies and fostering loosely coupled architectures.

• Set best practices for API lifecycle management, covering versioning, documentation, security, and governance.

• Provide architectural guidance through design reviews, mentoring, and collaboration across teams to promote the consistent application of integration patterns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable integration solutions within distributed systems.

• In-depth knowledge of API-centric system design and contemporary integration techniques (e.g., synchronous and asynchronous patterns).

• Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging principles as applied in practical scenarios.

• Experience in defining and managing interfaces or data exchange methodologies between systems.

• Awareness of reliability issues in distributed systems (e.g., handling failures, retries, or duplicate processing).

• Familiarity with a blend of legacy and modern systems in complex enterprise settings.

• Proficient in backend or service-oriented development using programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar.
