Senior Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Chief Architect to establish and implement the Data, Integration, and AI strategy.

• Design and architect solutions for our SaaS platform, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.

• Partner with engineering teams to implement architectural patterns and best practices.

• Contribute to the alignment of target architecture and AI initiatives across the product portfolio.

• Execute cloud transformation initiatives utilizing Kubernetes and related cloud-native technologies.

• Design and integrate AI-enhanced capabilities (e.g., predictive analytics, intelligent automation, LLM-based virtual assistants) into designated product areas.

• Implement adaptable architecture patterns that facilitate deployment across various cloud providers (Azure or comparable AWS/GCP), private cloud, and on-premises environments.

• Develop platform components that abstract cloud-specific dependencies while effectively leveraging PaaS where applicable.

• Employ FinOps practices to optimize cloud expenditures while maintaining performance and reliability.

• Create and maintain thorough architecture documentation for assigned product areas.

• Contribute to a metrics-driven governance framework to assess architectural effectiveness.

• Assist in technical due diligence (Tech DD) activities for potential acquisitions (M&A).

• Mentor and coach engineering teams to ensure architectural practices and responsible AI principles are integrated into development processes.

• Engage in internal AI and architecture communities, collaborating with engineering teams, Cloud Operations, and key stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software architecture, with a solid background in enterprise software, data, and integration architecture.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or a related field preferred.

• Proven experience in architecting solutions within a SaaS or enterprise software environment.

• Demonstrated history of contributing to architecture modernization, ensuring scalability, AI-readiness, high availability, and performance.

• Experience working with distributed teams and collaborating across multiple product areas.

• 7+ years of experience in C# or Java development, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and best practices.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud (and/or AWS, GCP), including Azure AI/ML services, Cognitive Services, and OpenAI APIs.

• 3+ years of experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes and related cloud-native technologies) and service mesh architectures.

• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and integration patterns.

• Proficient understanding of data platforms, storage and serving, and data pipeline technologies.

• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and Agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, MS Semantic Kernel) is a plus.

• Proven experience applying AI/ML tools and techniques to software architecture, system design, and hands-on development — including the use of AI-assisted coding and design automation.

• Experience with cloud cost management and optimization techniques across various deployment models.

• Knowledge of data residency, sovereignty, and compliance requirements for distributed cloud deployments.

• Experience with large-scale SaaS platforms, supporting thousands of customers.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with engineering teams, architects, and technical leaders.

• Ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience mentoring developers and promoting architectural best practices.
