
Senior Analyst – Forest Crime Investigations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.
• Oversee GI-TOC’s investigative initiatives addressing criminally motivated deforestation in Indonesia.
• Develop and implement investigations that identify the key players, pathways, financial transactions, and supportive infrastructure of forest crime networks.
• Provide mentorship, review work, and ensure quality standards on partner investigations.
• Generate investigative outputs that meet the evidentiary standards necessary to facilitate law enforcement actions.
• Act as GI-TOC’s main contact point for engagement with Indonesian governmental representatives regarding forest and related organized crime.
• Monitor policy and enforcement trends pertinent to forest crime.
• 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in investigations, analysis, or intelligence work related to organized crime, environmental crime, mining, corruption, or similar fields.
• Proficient understanding of Indonesia’s law enforcement, prosecutorial, and environmental governance frameworks.
• Proven history in addressing environmental crime, illegal mining, illegal logging, land conversion, or closely related areas in Indonesia.
• Established working relationships with Indonesian enforcement agencies, prosecutors, environmental ministries, financial intelligence units, anti-corruption organizations, or credible civil society partners in these domains.
• Proficiency in both written and oral Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Demonstrated capability to operate in politically sensitive contexts.
