• Aids in evaluating the implementation of enterprise-wide and business unit Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions Programs to avert illegal, unethical, or improper business practices.
• Supports the execution and supervision of activities to adhere to the Bank Secrecy Act, AML, USA PATRIOT ACT, and Sanctions Program requirements.
• Cultivates the ability to constructively challenge conclusions and the status quo.
• Regularly updates AML and Sanctions policies and procedures as necessary.
• Ensures that Compliance Manuals, Front Office Manuals, policies, and procedures accurately represent current laws, regulations, and management intentions.
• Independently evaluates analyses, reviews, and recommendations.
• Identifies and defines AML and Sanctions objectives for designated lines of business, products/services, and relevant regulations.
• Communicates and promotes those objectives (from a leadership perspective) to the business.
• Coordinates AML and Sanctions compliance monitoring and supervises the preparation of compliance reports.
• May act as a resource concerning the impact of AML and Sanctions compliance on overall business activities, product development, and customer interactions.
• Gathers information and provides input utilized in the preparation of AML and Sanctions compliance reports and/or customer risk profiles.
• Identifies issues, suggests corrective action plans, and escalates through appropriate governance channels as necessary.
• Analyzes assessments of AML and Sanctions risk and internal controls.
• Researches developments in AML and Sanctions regulations.
• Understands the implications of regulatory developments and begins to foresee steps needed to modify or adjust AML and Sanctions internal controls and policies.
• Assists key business initiatives by pinpointing AML and Sanctions Compliance risks and providing solutions to manage these risks.
• University/college degree with less than 1 year of professional experience and/or successful completion of a formal development program.
• In the absence of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be taken into account.
