Senior Alteryx Developer

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain Alteryx workflows that utilize REST and SOAP APIs for both real-time and batch data ingestion.

• Implement various authentication methods, such as OAuth 2.0, API keys, and token-based security within Alteryx workflows.

• Oversee API integrations to ensure performance, error management, and data integrity.

• Create and manage native Alteryx database connections across multiple RDBMS platforms including SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and others.

• Configure and enhance Alteryx–Snowflake connectivity utilizing ODBC/JDBC drivers and bulk loading methodologies.

• Utilize pushdown optimization and in-database tools to maximize performance with large datasets.

• Develop frameworks in Alteryx for conducting data quality checks, covering completeness, accuracy, consistency, and referential integrity.

• Establish logging and exception handling protocols within workflows to track data anomalies.

• Automate validation processes to execute pre- and post-load checks for ETL jobs.

• Apply best practices for Alteryx Designer, including modular workflow design, reusable macros, documentation, and version control.

• Enhance workflows for optimized execution on Alteryx Server, addressing scheduling, priority management, dependency handling, and resource optimization.

• Enforce governance standards regarding workflow deployment, access management, and error resolution.

• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into efficient workflows.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for workflows, macros, APIs, and connections.

• Provide training to junior staff and promote Alteryx best practices throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience as an Alteryx Developer.

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• 3–5+ years of experience with Alteryx Designer (Core or Advanced certification preferred).

• Demonstrated experience in integrating APIs into Alteryx workflows.

• Strong foundation in database administration and connectivity within Alteryx.

• Practical experience with Snowflake data cloud integration, including bulk loading and query optimization.

• Proficient in SQL (DDL/DML), with the ability to script and enhance queries.

• Comprehensive understanding of ETL concepts, data cleansing, and data governance.

• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong communication abilities for effective cross-team collaboration.

• Experience in building Macros in Alteryx is preferred.

• Familiarity with automation tools such as Alteryx Scheduler or Server API is preferred.

• Knowledge of Python or R for additional analytics tasks is preferred.

• Cloud experience, particularly with Snowflake in AWS/Azure/GCP environments, is preferred.

• Understanding of CI/CD and workflow version control systems (Git, Bitbucket) is preferred.

• Proficiency in reading/writing from Snowflake using Alteryx is preferred.
