Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Agentic System Design: Develop, construct, and uphold production-level agentic systems, multi-agent orchestration, specialist agents, and Human-in-the-Loop workflows, incorporating context management, memory, and tool-calling.

• MCP & Tool Integration: Create MCP servers and tool integrations that link AI agents to Teak's platform APIs and partner systems.

• LLM Integration & Output Control: Manage LLMs (Claude, GPT, Gemini, or similar) within the AI layer, choosing the appropriate model for each task and overseeing prompt and system-prompt strategies to ensure agents deliver refund solutions using pre-approved, compliant language.

• RAG & Knowledge Systems: Establish RAG pipelines that ground agent responses in Teak's policy and product data, including versioning and isolation to prevent hallucinations on compliance-sensitive topics.

• Compliance & Safety: Develop guardrails that enforce compliant offer language, prevent unauthorized coverage claims, and adhere to regulatory requirements across Teak's markets.

• Evaluation: Create evaluation frameworks to monitor, test, and continuously enhance agent performance, reliability, and output quality.

• AI Infrastructure & Observability: Build and manage AI infrastructure on AWS, ensuring structured logging and tracing for auditability and swift issue resolution.

• Backend Development: Contribute to backend services, APIs, and platform enhancements in Python alongside AI initiatives, utilizing clean code practices, testing, and robust engineering principles.

• Collaboration & Code Quality: Engage in code reviews, document agent system design and integration patterns, participate in Agile workflows, and be part of the on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years dedicated to production AI/LLM application development.

• Strong proficiency in Python and solid software engineering fundamentals.

• Extensive backend engineering experience, creating, building, and operating production services and APIs (Django or a similar framework), with a strong foundation in testing, code quality, and system design.

• Practical experience in constructing and deploying agentic AI systems (LangGraph, LangChain, AWS Bedrock Agents, or similar).

• Proven experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar) into production environments.

• Experience in building and maintaining RAG pipelines and vector search systems.

• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and tool-calling patterns.

• Experience in designing and implementing LLM evaluation frameworks for quality, reliability, and safety.

• Background in building and managing AI infrastructure on a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey AI system design to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
