Senior Account Manager, Anti-Infectives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Support and enhance formulary access, readiness of protocols and order sets, discharge pathway assistance, and demand generation within targeted hospital accounts.

• Engage with Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management teams, discharge planners, and IDN decision-makers to drive sales.

• Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive territory business plans.

• Manage relationships with hospitals while understanding customer needs and priorities.

• Provide scientific and clinical information relevant to the disease state and approved product area.

• Deliver sales presentations and thorough clinical brand presentations to healthcare professionals.

• Optimize customer engagement through effective resource management.

• Collaborate with Organized Provider Account Directors, Reimbursement Managers, colleagues, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Achieve and surpass sales targets while maximizing sales opportunities.

• Secure formulary wins in hospitals and translate market access achievements into prescribing and utilization.

• Initiate discussions with stakeholders regarding patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.

• Partner with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners to facilitate patient access and continuity of therapy.

• Identify and resolve barriers affecting product adoption.

• Plan activities to meet call metrics and enhance customer coverage and frequency.

• Understand healthcare delivery systems, account structures, physician hierarchies, pharmacy personnel, and clinical nursing staff.

• Monitor product knowledge, account understanding, market trends, utilization patterns, customer insights, and local market dynamics.

• Conduct educational programs, in-services, speaker sessions, and compliant scientific discussions.

• Provide feedback on marketing and analyze sales activities and territory performance.

• Develop territory plans alongside the Regional Sales Director, brand team, and support partners.

• Manage the territory budget effectively.

• Complete administrative tasks and implement brand strategies and tactics.

• Participate in training and development initiatives.

• Maintain adherence to corporate and industry policies and procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree from an accredited institution.

• Valid driver's license.

• Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical, or biotech industry.

• More than 3 years of experience interacting with hospitals and health systems.

• Familiarity with hospital decision-making processes, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship programs.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned geographic area, including overnight travel.

• Capability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

• Consistent history of top-tier sales performance and proven success in product launches.

• Demonstrated success in driving demand generation within hospital settings.

• Expertise in account selling and managing intricate sales processes.

• In-depth understanding of the Health Systems business model, organizational structure, stakeholder roles, and decision-making processes.

• Experience engaging specialist physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership.

• Experience collaborating across hospital and community care environments.

• Ability to analyze data and trends to develop actionable business plans.

• Proven ability to comply with regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.

• Exceptional presentation and selling skills, paired with strong business acumen.
