This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Design and develop security solutions that balance flexibility in infrastructure and applications while providing protection against security threats.
• Collaborate with Senior Security Engineers/Architects to assist in proof of concepts and the implementation of security solutions.
• Support security and compliance initiatives involving cloud technologies, operating systems, applications, databases, and security requirements.
• Aid engineers in the deployment of security tools that facilitate DevOps/SecOps processes and manage cloud computing resources.
• Engage in Design & Build IT projects, directing cloud configurations and services towards optimal security practices.
• Take part in security engineering discussions for enterprise IT and Business IT teams regarding IaaS/PaaS/SaaS implementations.
• Advocate for and communicate changes that support the DevOps/SecOps methodology.
• Assist with software installations, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, account management, and initiatives to reduce system downtime.
• Conduct basic system vulnerability scanning using approved tools and automate scanning processes where feasible.
• Gain a deep understanding of system vulnerabilities and threats, assessing overall system security risks.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
• Ability to comprehend new security strategies effectively.
• Experience or knowledge in cloud technologies, operating systems, applications, databases, and relevant security issues and requirements.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and the capability to support DevOps/SecOps methodologies.
• Understanding of software installations, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, account management, and efforts aimed at maintaining system uptime.
• Capability to perform basic system vulnerability scanning using approved software tools.
• Proficiency in automating vulnerability scanning processes.
• Awareness of system security vulnerabilities and associated threats.
• Ability to evaluate overall system security risks effectively.
• Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.
• For remote positions, a designated private workspace, suitable desk and seating, and a reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload are required.
