Scriptwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, compose, and refine scripts for animated educational videos that convey evidence-based information regarding trauma, PTSD, effective treatments, and co-occurring conditions.

• Convert scientific literature, clinical protocols, and technical details into clear, precise, and engaging scripts utilizing plain language principles suitable for public audiences.

• Create storylines, dialogue, narration, scene descriptions, and visual cues that effectively relay educational content while keeping the audience engaged.

• Work in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), clinicians, project managers, Government stakeholders, and production teams to ensure scripts accurately represent current clinical evidence and approved treatment guidelines.

• Guarantee all scripts uphold a serious, compassionate, and hopeful tone that promotes treatment engagement while steering clear of stigmatizing or triggering language.

• Produce scripts that are culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and inclusive of diverse populations and experiences.

• Integrate Government feedback and stakeholder comments throughout various review and approval stages.

• Coordinate with storyboard artists, animators, voice talent, and production staff to ensure scripts facilitate effective visual storytelling and animation production.

• Ensure scripts are properly structured for animation timing, pacing, narration, and visual transitions.

• Prepare supporting documentation, script revisions, production notes, and version control records as necessary.

• Confirm that written products adhere to applicable Federal plain language guidance, accessibility standards, and project-specific quality requirements.

• Assist educational outreach initiatives by creating content suitable for digital media, public awareness campaigns, and other communication platforms as directed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, Media Studies, Public Health, or a related field.

• At least three (3) years of experience writing scripts or educational content relevant to the requirements of this task order.

• Proven experience in producing scripts for video, animation, multimedia, or other educational communication products.
