This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• As a SAP Basis & Platform Specialist, you will serve as an internal technical expert for the SAP platform, responsible for the hands-on operation, reliability, advancement, and technical governance of the SAP S/4HANA landscape.
• Lead practical technical initiatives for SAP S/4HANA release upgrades, encompassing sandbox, development, quality, and pre-production cycles, execution of SUM, management of SAP Notes lifecycle, technical regression support, cutover planning, hypercare, rollback readiness, and post-upgrade stabilization.
• Evaluate the existing SAP technical landscape, pinpointing platform risks, undocumented configurations, upgrade dependencies, monitoring gaps, security vulnerabilities, integration dependencies, technical debt, partner dependencies, and opportunities for automation or standardization.
• Assist in defining the SAP platform operating model, which includes support levels, escalation paths, incident ownership, monitoring standards, transport governance, release participation, environment strategy, documentation requirements, partner handoffs, and audit evidence practices.
• Provide hands-on SAP platform support for regulatory and fiscal changes affecting Brazil, including Reforma Tributária, adoption of SAP Notes, alignment of version baselines, technical impact analysis, environment readiness, transport coordination, and support for functional changes led by FI/CO, Tax, Product, and external partners.
• Operate and continuously enhance the SAP S/4HANA landscape end to end, managing installations, support packages, kernel updates, system refreshes, client copies, job monitoring, interface monitoring, technical housekeeping, capacity reviews, and routine Basis activities.
• Oversee and govern SAP HANA operational practices, including HANA System Replication, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, query and memory analysis, capacity planning, patch coordination, and incident response.
• Manage transport and change management activities through STMS and ChaRM / SAP Cloud ALM, ensuring traceability, segregation of duties, emergency-change control, approval evidence, release coordination, and secure promotion across DEV, QAS, and PRD.
• Implement and support SAP platform security baselines in collaboration with Security and GRC stakeholders, covering technical user lifecycle, SSO, certificate management, audit logs, role transport controls, emergency access support, and evidence generation in compliance with LGPD, BACEN, and SOX where applicable.
• Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience in SAP Basis / SAP platform operations.
• Significant hands-on experience as SAP Basis on active SAP S/4HANA landscapes, including SUM-based release upgrades, support packages, kernel updates, SAP Notes lifecycle management, system refreshes, technical troubleshooting, and production support.
• Experience in environments where SAP platform governance, documentation, monitoring, or internal capabilities were still under development is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with SAP monitoring and observability practices, such as Solution Manager / Cloud ALM monitoring, job monitoring, interface monitoring, HANA cockpit, alerting, and operational dashboards.
• Experience in producing technical evidence for audits, including change logs, transport approvals, access reviews, backup evidence, incident records, recovery tests, and operational controls.
• Proven experience in maintaining and validating backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery procedures, with documented RTO/RPO expectations and periodic recovery testing.
• Practical expertise in SAP HANA operations, encompassing HANA System Replication, backup and recovery, backup validation, performance tuning, monitoring, capacity planning, memory analysis, and incident troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of SAP Integration Suite / CPI from a platform operations standpoint, including tenant administration, connectivity, certificate management, Cloud Connector, monitoring, deployment support, and runtime troubleshooting of iflows.
• Extensive experience with SAP transport governance using ChaRM on Solution Manager 7.2 or SAP Cloud ALM.
• Understanding of SAP platform security, including technical users, SSO, certificates, audit logs, role transport controls, emergency access support, and collaboration with Security/GRC teams on SoD-related controls.
• Strong Linux administration skills (SUSE or RHEL) and proficiency in shell scripting.
• Automation and scripting experience as a core competency, including shell, Python, or equivalent languages for operational automation, monitoring, log analysis, and reliability enhancements. Basic knowledge of ABAP for reading and debugging code in incident analysis and SAP Notes validation is expected. Familiarity with Groovy, JavaScript, or CPI iflow development is a significant advantage.
• Experience operating SAP landscapes on at least one cloud platform (RISE with SAP or AWS), including HA/DR.
• Practical experience in regulated industries (fintech, banking, payments, retail, or e-commerce), with exposure to compliance frameworks such as BACEN, LGPD, or SOX.
• Knowledge of modern SAP transport approaches (gCTS, abapGit) and CI/CD applied to SAP assets.
• Experience acting as the internal SAP platform liaison to implementation partners and AMS providers, with the capability to review and challenge technical plans, Basis activities, transports, SAP Notes strategy, cutover steps, environment dependencies, documentation, and production-readiness criteria.
• Desirable: familiarity with BW/4HANA and SAP BTP.
• Practical experience applying AI-assisted tools (Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) to SAP operations.
• SAP certifications in S/4HANA Technology, SAP HANA Technology, SAP NetWeaver Technology, or SAP Integration Suite.
• Fluent in Portuguese and advanced in Spanish and English, given the LATAM operations.
