SAP Automation Pilot Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and execute automated operational workflows on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

• Develop and oversee automation runbooks utilizing SAP Automation Pilot for operational tasks like service restarts, health checks, log collection, and cache clearing.

• Integrate automation workflows with the SAP Alert Notification Service for event-driven execution.

• Create both scheduled and on-demand automation procedures for routine maintenance of SAP BTP.

• Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Operations teams to identify and automate repetitive manual tasks.

• Monitor automation executions, address failures, and enhance runbook reliability over time.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation workflows, triggers, and operational procedures.

• Lead the SAP automation pilot program for designated business processes.

• Evaluate existing SAP workflows to identify opportunities for automation.

• Design and implement process automation solutions across various SAP modules.

• Develop proof of concepts (POCs), pilot bots, and automation workflows.

• Work alongside business stakeholders to define the scope of automation, KPIs, and success metrics.

• Integrate automation solutions with SAP ECC / S4HANA environments.

• Provide support for UAT, deployment, and hypercare during the pilot rollout.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process optimization and the automation roadmap.

• Ensure appropriate documentation, governance, and transition support.

• Recommend scale-up opportunities following successful pilot completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience in SAP BTP operations or cloud infrastructure.

• Practical experience with SAP Automation Pilot, including runbooks, commands, and scheduled executions.

• Solid understanding of SAP BTP architecture and services.

• Experience with REST API integrations and SAP BTP service connectivity.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication and remote collaboration skills.

• Extensive experience in SAP Automation Pilot / SAP Process Automation initiatives.

• Hands-on expertise in SAP Intelligent RPA / SAP Build Process Automation.

• Familiarity with workflow automation, bot orchestration, and both attended and unattended automation.

• Strong understanding of SAP business processes.

• Experience with test automation for SAP applications.

• Knowledge of API integrations, RFC/BAPI, IDocs, and SAP connectors.

• Exposure to process mining and automation discovery tools.

• Strong stakeholder communication and collaborative skills in remote settings.

• Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM or SAP operations monitoring tools (Preferred).

• Basic scripting knowledge (JavaScript or similar) (Preferred).

• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Preferred).

• Awareness of the broader SAP Build portfolio owners to enhance operations and improve efficiency through intelligent automation (Preferred).
