Rust Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain essential components of the GraphTally protocol using Rust.

• Collaborate with researchers and protocol engineers to enhance and advance the architecture.

• Optimize signature verification, message processing, and batching for high-throughput capabilities.

• Implement secure state transition logic, trust-minimized payment flows, and interactions with smart contracts.

• Work closely with smart contract engineers to ensure smooth on-chain integration, primarily on L2s like Arbitrum.

• Produce clean, testable, and efficient code with an emphasis on security and accuracy.

• Contribute to technical documentation, specifications, and developer tools to facilitate GraphTally adoption.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in writing high-performance, production-quality asynchronous code in Rust.

• Experience in designing and implementing remote APIs (REST, JSON-RPC, gRPC).

• Proven experience in the design and development of responsive microservices.

• Familiarity with databases such as Postgres and Redis.

• Hands-on experience with Docker.

• In-depth knowledge of cryptographic primitives, particularly ECDSA and digital signature schemes.

• Proficient in Rust’s async/await model, utilizing futures, tokio, or async-std.

• Understanding of asynchronous state machines for managing intricate protocol flows.

• Familiarity with zero-knowledge proofs, state/payment channels, or escrow mechanisms is a plus.

• Strong understanding of trust-minimized systems, distributed protocols, or payment rails within a web3 context.

• Experience working with Ethereum L2s (such as Arbitrum and Optimism) and integrating with smart contracts.

• Skilled in testing, benchmarking, and debugging asynchronous Rust applications in a web3 environment, using tools like anvil.

• Excellent communication skills, a sense of curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership.
