Robotics Safety Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Conducting and/or supporting Risk Assessments (RA)

• Conducting and/or supporting systems Risk Assessments

• Establishing and documenting safety requirement specifications (SRS)

• Validating hardware solutions utilizing the BGIA Sistema tool

• Reviewing test reports for safety validation

• Drafting safety-related documentation for the TF

• Visiting customer sites to aid in executing the system RA

• Visiting customer sites to assist in carrying out system safety validation

• Compiling safety-related information for document authors

• Assessing safety standards under review and suggesting improvements

• Developing or enhancing internal safety-related instructions and protocols

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechatronics or equivalent experience

• Strong understanding of fundamental Laws, Directives, and Standards including Machine Directive 2006/42/EC, Machinery Regulation EU/2023/1230, ISO 12100-2011, ISO 13849-1:2023, IEC 60204:2018, ISO 13850:2015, ISO 13855:2024, and ISO 13857:2019

• Familiarity with ISO 3691-4:2023, EN 528, and/or EN 619 is a plus

• Knowledge of US standards B11.0, B11.19, B11.26, B56.5, etc., is an advantage

• Experience in facilitating Risk Assessment meetings

• Proficiency in risk assessment evaluation techniques

• Experience with RA tools

• Possession of CMSE® and/or CECE® certifications or equivalent is advantageous

• Understanding of electrical and hydraulic control systems

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite

• Excellent command of English (both spoken and written)

• Willingness to travel regularly
