This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and manage return-to-work initiatives for employees who have sustained injuries.
• The role requires travel outside the office, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle for appointments.
• Ensure timely and precise documentation of productivity is maintained and submitted.
• Collaborate with employers to gain insights into work environments, identify opportunities for light duty placements, and promote the benefits of return-to-work programs.
• Document the claim file through formal written reports, system entries, emails, and faxes.
• Record the results of vocational services and available placement opportunities.
• Utilize relevant third-party guidelines and medical restrictions to evaluate potential placements.
• Assess, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of transitional work plans, including time estimates.
• Apply professional expertise to identify tasks necessary for developing transitional duties.
• Organize site visits with assigned agencies to train, inspire, and create transitional job opportunities.
• Conduct personal visits with injured employees to assess their status and needs, including options and goals for returning to work.
• Maintain regular communication with clients post-placement, following program guidelines; engage with relevant individuals regarding progress on each case and suggest adjustments to rehabilitation plans as needed.
• Leverage professional knowledge of medical management and its components in relation to Workers’ Compensation.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision, adhering to the policies and procedures of Davies North America.
• Ensure patient privacy by keeping all medical records and case-specific information confidential, in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Comply with medical and legal standards for written communications and accreditation requirements.
• Serve as a resource for all departments within Davies.
• To fulfill driving and travel responsibilities effectively, maintain an active Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean Motor Vehicle Report.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• A Vocational Consultant with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial or occupational case management and/or vocational services.
• Preference for candidates who are Physical or Occupational Therapists.
• Previous experience as a Return-to-Work Specialist is highly preferred.
• Preferred credentials include CDMS, CCM, CRC.
• Advanced understanding of Workers’ Compensation claims, particularly within managed care organizations, is preferred.
• Proof of current State Certification and Licensure where applicable is required.
• Field case management experience is desirable, with a preference for Workers’ Compensation experience.
• Strong working knowledge of return-to-work or job accommodation procedures is essential.
• Must be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and willing to travel as necessary.
• Proficiency in operating a personal computer and related claims and business software is required.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written; must be a team player with good attendance and excellent customer service skills.
• Extended hours may be required to achieve job objectives.
• Proficient in the use of computers and software, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and interpretive skills are necessary.
