Research Scientist – Growing Media, Raw Material Innovation

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and assessment of professional growing media products and engineered substrate technologies.

• Offer technical assistance to Marketing, Sales, Grower Specialists, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and R&D teams.

• Assist with grower trial initiatives, development of the Sun Gro University webinar program, and partnerships with universities and industry.

• Keep track of new technologies, raw materials, and market trends related to growing media and controlled environment agriculture.

⛳️ Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Horticulture, Soil Science, Plant Science, Controlled Environment Agriculture, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Background in growing media, substrate science, greenhouse production, or controlled environment agriculture systems is preferred.

• Experience in conducting laboratory, greenhouse, and field research trials.

• Knowledge of professional horticulture, ornamental, food, or cannabis production systems is preferred.

• Experience in technical product development and commercialization support is preferred.
