• A bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• An advanced degree may replace some experience.
• Master’s or PhD in health services research, mathematics/statistics, epidemiology, biostatistics, econometrics, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills rooted in econometrics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with causal inference methods, including the design and/or execution of experimental and quasi-experimental studies (e.g., randomized trials; regression discontinuity, difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, and matched designs).
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and R, Python, or Stata for statistical programming.
• Experience with healthcare data sources such as medical or pharmacy claims, electronic health records, event notifications, clinical data, and patient-reported information, along with working within a complex enterprise data warehouse.
• Understanding of standard approaches for measuring healthcare utilization, costs, quality, and related outcomes.
• Experience navigating intricate data environments and managing unstructured data.
• Capability to oversee research projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from design to implementation, documentation, and presentation of findings.
• Familiarity with AI tools for programming and project management.
• Proven ability to conduct sophisticated analyses that yield accurate and unbiased results, effectively communicating those findings through data visualizations, presentations, and reports.
• Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to provide data and actionable insights to clients and vendors.
• Strong attention to detail, especially regarding version control (e.g., Git), quality assurance, documentation, and developing repeatable processes.
• Ability to excel in a dynamic environment, managing competing deadlines and priorities.
• Appreciation for individuals with diverse backgrounds and perspectives; promotes effective interpersonal and intercultural engagement.
• Well-informed about Equity and Inclusion terminology, concepts, and principles (e.g., health disparities, social determinants of health, implicit bias) and capable of conveying these ideas to broader audiences.
