• Assists in the daily operations of a team of Pre-Award Specialists.
• Oversees workload allocation and communicates any issues to the Research Administration Services (RAS) Director.
• Offers support and direction to team members.
• Collaborates with the RAS Director on pre-award tasks, resolving issues, and distributing workloads.
• Works alongside the Post-Award team lead to facilitate inter-team meetings.
• Manages pre-award responsibilities for a designated set of grants and contracts.
• Guarantees a smooth and efficient workflow while maintaining quality standards.
• Executes pre-award functions for a specific unit within a RAS unit.
• Aids departmental faculty/Principal Investigators (PIs) in crafting, preparing, and submitting grant and contract proposals.
• Coordinates and assesses particular components of proposals for consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
• Tracks proposal progress and informs the PI about requirements and deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Five years of relevant experience in grants and contracts or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience.
• Familiarity with federal regulations and guidelines related to research grants and/or contract activities.
• Competence in using MS Office Suite software.
