This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer scientific, technical, and regulatory assistance for consultations related to the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and environmental compliance efforts.

• Aid in assessing federal actions that impact salmon, steelhead, protected marine species, essential fish habitat, and aquatic ecosystems across the Pacific Northwest and California.

• Create scientifically robust and legally sound environmental and regulatory documentation.

• Review, assess, and synthesize biological, ecological, engineering, and project data to determine potential effects on fishery resources.

• Draft, evaluate, and modify technical and regulatory documents.

• Provide technical advice to federal agencies and identify any data deficiencies.

• Collaborate with NMFS biologists, fish-passage engineers, NOAA Science Centers, legal teams, and project managers.

• Keep consultation records and maintain administrative files.

• Engage in interdisciplinary meetings and offer technical insights.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Aquatic Biology, Fisheries Biology, Conservation Biology, Wildlife Biology, Fisheries Management, Environmental Science, or a closely related scientific field.

• A minimum of three (3) years of pertinent professional experience or a Master's degree with at least one (1) year of directly related experience.

• Strong understanding of salmonid biology, life history, habitat needs, and aquatic ecosystems.

• Experience in supporting environmental compliance in accordance with federal environmental regulations.

• Exceptional skills in technical writing, editing, analysis, and verbal communication.

• Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary or multi-agency project teams.

• Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, milestones, performance metrics, and collaborative project management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

• A valid driver's license.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Low-Risk Public Trust clearance and PIV/CAC credentials.
