• Delivers professional nursing services via telephone in alignment with client-funded contracts.
• This role encompasses telephonic patient support, serving as a resource, referral source, data collector, and nurse educator for patients, consumers, and healthcare professionals.
• Specific responsibilities include adhering to guidelines set by program-specific contractual agreements and company practices, which may involve Patient Support: Initiate outbound calls to patients who have enrolled in a patient program, make additional calls as needed, and remain available to assist these patients by phone at all other times.
• Handle inbound calls from patients, healthcare professionals, and consumers, offering a professional resource for inquiries.
• Resource: Address questions from patients, consumers, and healthcare professionals, and recommend suitable resources for patients.
• Referral Source: Facilitate appropriate referrals for further training, support groups, program materials, or literature, and advise patients to consult their personal physicians for additional information, direction, and care.
• Collect Data: Gather accurate, timely, and clear data, and complete summaries of follow-up calls, patient inquiries, and outcomes. Educator: Conduct patient education regarding the use of products.
• 75% participation in program-specific customer meetings and training sessions.
• 10% participation in program-specific orientation meetings and demonstrate clinical competency through electronic/written assessments.
• 5% involvement in special projects and other duties related to specific contract performance.
• Minimum of an associate degree and a professional nursing license.
• Registered Nurse License in good standing in the state of employment and/or cross-licensed in additional states.
• Telephonic nursing positions require a Compact State License in eligible states; the employee must be willing to obtain a Compact State license when their state enacts Compact legislation.
• Telephonic nursing positions necessitate a California State License, and the employee must be prepared to acquire additional Single State Licenses upon request.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Fundamental skills in database management and office navigation.
• Capability to maintain a high level of customer interaction/service skills when communicating with patients, prescribers, and/or specialty pharmacies via phone; ability to multitask with both PC/Phone related tasks while adhering to approved scripted materials.
• Proficiency in interpreting information provided by the patient to ascertain the next steps based on individual case requirements.
