• Delivers telephonic professional nursing services in support of client-funded contracts.
• Initiates outbound calls to patients enrolled in a patient program, makes additional calls as needed, and remains available to assist these patients via phone at all other times.
• Receives inbound calls from patients, healthcare professionals, and consumers, serving as a professional resource for inquiries.
• Responds to questions from patients, consumers, and healthcare professionals, recommending suitable resources for patients.
• Makes necessary referrals for further training, support groups, program materials, or literature, and advises patients to contact their personal physicians for more information, directions, and care.
• Compiles accurate, timely, and clear data, completing summaries of follow-up calls, patient inquiries, and their outcomes.
• Conducts patient education regarding the use of products.
• Participates in program-specific customer meetings and training sessions.
• Engages in program-specific orientation meetings and demonstrates clinical competency through electronic and written assessments.
• Undertakes special projects and performs other duties related to specific contract performance.
• Minimum of an associate degree and a professional nursing license.
• Registered Nurse License in good standing in the state of employment and/or cross-licensed in other states.
• Telephonic nursing positions require a Compact State License in eligible states; the employee must also be willing to obtain a Compact State license once their state chooses to adopt Compact legislation.
• Telephonic nursing roles require a California State License, and the employee must be prepared to acquire additional Single State Licenses upon request.
• 2-5 years of experience.
• Basic skills in database and office navigation.
• Capability to uphold a high level of customer interaction/service skills while communicating with patients, prescribers, and/or specialty pharmacies via phone; ability to multitask between PC/Phone related tasks while adhering to approved scripted materials.
• Ability to interpret information shared by the patient to determine appropriate next steps as each individual case may require.
