Quality Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and mentor Quality Engineers (QEs) and Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) across various product teams to ensure they adhere to the quality engineering strategy.

• Facilitate the consistent implementation of risk-based exploratory testing by assisting in charter development, context gathering, and story-driven test design.

• Enhance automation maturity by guiding SDETs through the end-to-end process of checks, suite curation, and ownership responsibilities.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to synchronize quality activities with delivery objectives and risk tolerance levels.

• Partner with automation architects, framework teams, and regression staff to guarantee comprehensive and sustainable automation coverage.

• Establish efficient practices for workflow management, including environment lifecycle management, governance, compliance, and incident response.

• Articulate the quality narrative through metrics, coverage mapping, and outcome-focused reporting that emphasizes risk, confidence, and delivery impact.

• Mentor team members to enhance both their technical skills (automation, test design, observability) and strategic capabilities (risk framing, Continuous Assurance Services, quality storytelling).

• Cultivate a culture of responsible testing, innovation, and collaboration throughout the engineering domain.

• Advocate for responsible AI-assisted quality practices across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to improve test design, automation opportunities, coverage analysis, and quality artifact generation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality.

• A strong grasp of contemporary quality engineering methodologies, including exploratory testing, test automation, observability, and continuous delivery.

• Proven ability to coach and mentor engineers on both mindset and technical proficiencies.

• Demonstrated success in fostering cross-team alignment regarding quality strategies and practices.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating risk and quality insights to executive, product, and technical stakeholders.

• Experience with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and collaboration within distributed teams.
