
Quality Auditor, Building Products Inspections

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct regularly scheduled inspections for qualification, surveillance, and sampling, whether on-site, in-plant, or remotely, as directed by the department.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure ICC-ES is recognized as a trusted partner.
• Adhere to all relevant company and departmental procedures during the execution of inspection tasks.
• Continuously monitor each client's adherence to approved quality systems and ensure compliance with specified requirements, including the review of incoming materials, material specifications, ongoing quality control testing as outlined in the quality manual, and the final inspection and labeling of products.
• Regularly assess and report on the status of each client's quality system to ICC-ES or the agency responsible for assigning inspections.
• Assist in planning factory audits and product sampling throughout the year to ensure efficient operations.
• Optimize travel costs by planning ahead and informing the manager, supervisor, or coordinator of any challenges as necessary.
• Review and track travel expenses to ensure alignment with company objectives; reach out to the manager for any inquiries or suggestions for cost savings.
• Meet the assigned average number of unique audits or sampling events as designated by the Director of ICC-ES Inspections.
• Address scheduling issues with the manager if the assigned schedule does not fulfill department needs.
• Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and special tasks as assigned by the Director of ICC-ES Inspections.
• Consistently identify and seek opportunities for process enhancements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
• Encourage effective communication across the organization and suggest actions to improve communication among team members.
• Provide ongoing insights and suggestions for addressing recurring field challenges through consistent communication with department managers.
• Propose enhancements to systems, policies, and procedures within the Inspections Department.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have, or demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire, a solid understanding of products and quality standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service capabilities.
• Experience in building construction, manufacturing, or conducting quality assurance audits is preferred.
• Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and web-based applications is preferred.
• Basic understanding of materials, tools, and methods used in construction is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with both technical and non-technical personnel is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all organizational levels are preferred.
