Python Backend Developer, File Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• System Implementation: Assist in the transformation of outdated Perl batch jobs into contemporary, maintainable Python services.

• Operational Reliability: Contribute to the deployment of workflow orchestration (Prefect/Airflow) to guarantee secure job re-runs and maintain system stability.

• Observability: Aid in enhancing our services with logging and alerting (Grafana/CloudWatch) to facilitate system monitoring without direct access to production.

• Data Transformation: Engage in data ingestion pipelines, transferring raw data to S3 and converting it into records for relational databases.

• Collaboration: Take part in agile sprints and ensure clear communication in English with the team and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Python Expertise: Over 3 years of backend development experience utilizing Python.

• Orchestration Exposure: Familiarity or practical experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect.

• AWS Fundamentals: Background knowledge of AWS services like S3 and Lambda.

• Databases: Proficient in working with relational databases, particularly MySQL.

• Clean Code: You produce intentional, readable code and can articulate your implementation decisions without depending on AI.

• Curiosity for Product: You have an interest in the business logic and the reasoning behind the code, especially concerning payment processes and reconciliation.

• Problem Solving: Possess strong analytical abilities and a proactive mindset toward troubleshooting.
