Professional Billing Quality Coding Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive multi-specialty reviews for the Medical Group, ensuring accuracy of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and HCPCS codes in accordance with official coding and CMS guidelines.

• Compile summaries of coding review results and deliver monthly reports to leadership.

• Oversee the performance of all coders within the department.

• Provide training and mentorship to coders on identified issues and correct coding practices.

• Assign codes for professional billing charges based on clinical documentation.

• Identify and assist in resolving coding challenges while enhancing processes.

• Support the development of edits aimed at preventing coding denials.

• Aid in the creation of standardized front-end coding processes and training resources.

• Collaborate with other departments to address coding issues.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.

• A minimum of three years of multi-specialty coding experience in professional billing.

• CPC Certified Professional Coder certification from AAPC.

• CPMA Certified Professional Medical Auditor certification from AAPC.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and fundamental anatomy and physiology.

• Capability to apply coding principles to ensure accurate coding.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Proficient understanding of Epic, Encoder Pro, and 3M systems.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects effectively.

• Competence in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

• Proficient data entry skills.
