This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Plan, lead, and/or conduct second-party QMS audits to ensure compliance with the 91XX and ISO series standards, RTX and business unit policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and customer requirements across RTX locations.
β’ Execute formal duties of a lead auditor such as coordinating audit planning with the EQA audit planner, acting as the representative for the audit team with site leadership, conducting opening and closing meetings, and performing daily debriefs with site personnel.
β’ Ensure adherence of processes, products, and services to internal standards, regulatory mandates, and industry best practices.
β’ Prepare and distribute comprehensive audit reports that include findings, non-conformances, and review and approval of effective corrective actions, along with ensuring their successful implementation.
β’ May provide assistance to RTX Certification bodies during site surveillance and recertification audits, which includes managing audit schedules, logistics, and the resolution of corrective actions.
β’ Aid in analyzing audit performance to pinpoint trends, risks, and opportunities for ongoing improvement.
β’ Leverage data analytics to enhance audit preparation and planning grounded in both historical and current performance data.
β’ Collaborate closely with regional leads of the EQA team and Ops Excellence lead to support the audit schedule, ensuring that RTX sites are audited according to the established timeline.
β’ Cultivate cooperative relationships with functional and business leaders to advance a transformative quality organization that aligns with business goals.
β’ Engage in weekly Corrective Action Review Board meetings to review, approve, or reject formal corrective actions.
β’ Provide support for special audits (e.g., suspensions, significant customer complaints, high-risk sites, etc.), independent assessments, and site certifications as necessary for RTX business units.
β’ Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience, combined with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in quality assurance, with a minimum of 1 year in QMS auditing within the aerospace, space, and defense sectors.
β’ Knowledge of the 91XX series and ISO9001 standards.
β’ Capability to achieve certification as an Aerospace Auditor (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA) within one year.
β’ Current and validated Lead Audit certification (evidence is necessary).
β’ Ability to obtain and retain a secret U.S. government-issued security clearance is essential.
