This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Strategize, oversee, and/or execute second-party QMS audits to ensure adherence to the 91XX and ISO series standards, RTX and business unit policies & procedures, as well as regulatory and customer requirements across RTX locations.
• Carry out formal lead auditor responsibilities which include audit planning in collaboration with the EQA audit planner, representing the audit team to site leadership, conducting opening and closing meetings, and providing daily debriefs to site personnel.
• Verify that processes, products, and services align with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry-leading practices.
• Generate and distribute comprehensive audit reports that encompass findings, non-conformities, and the review and approval of effective corrective actions, ensuring their successful implementation.
• May assist RTX Certification bodies during site surveillance and recertification audits, which includes managing audit schedules, logistics, and the resolution of corrective actions.
• Aid in analyzing audit performance to spot trends, risks, and opportunities for ongoing enhancement.
• Employ data analytics to facilitate thorough audit preparation and planning based on both historical and current performance data.
• Collaborate closely with regional leads of the EQA team and Ops Excellence lead to manage the audit schedule, ensuring that sites throughout RTX are audited according to the planned timeline.
• Cultivate cooperative relationships with functional and business leaders to advance a transformative quality organization that aligns with business goals.
• Engage in weekly Corrective Action Review Board meetings to assess and approve or reject formal corrective actions.
• Contribute to special audits (e.g., suspensions, significant customer complaints, high-risk sites, etc.), independent assessments, and site certifications as required by RTX business units.
• Generally requires a University Degree, or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in quality assurance, including a minimum of 1 year in QMS auditing within the aerospace, space, and defense sectors.
• Knowledge of the 91XX series and ISO9001 standards.
• Capability to obtain certification as an Aerospace Auditor (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA) within one year.
• Current authenticated Lead Audit certification is required (evidence must be provided).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a secret U.S. government-issued security clearance is necessary.
