
Principal Solutions Engineer – Artificial Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
• Develop innovative techniques, solutions, and methodologies to enhance customer core business process adoption.
• Collaborate with domain experts, scientists, data scientists, and technical engineers to create AI Solutions that align with organizational goals, including Computational Engineering.
• Partner with clients to outline objectives for curating data, algorithms, and outcomes; establish training pipelines, conduct large-scale customer experiments, and assess models for production deployment.
• Consult with research scientists on the possibilities and invention of new theoretical concepts, as well as the practical application of theories to foster a computational engineering solution pipeline.
• Lead the technical sales process from initial meetings and discovery through to post-sales success, upselling, and subscription renewals.
• Design tailored solutions for customer requirements utilizing Cloudera technologies—particularly Cloudera AI, AI Inference, AI Studios, and AI Workbench—based on reference architectures and common patterns.
• Present Cloudera’s product roadmap and vision to C-level executives (CIO, CTO, CDO), showcasing how AI Agents and Cloud Bursting can expedite enterprise AI adoption.
• Create and deliver engaging technical presentations and demonstrations that encourage customers to commit to Cloudera.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to represent customer needs, turning field feedback into actionable roadmap items.
• Engage in external publicity and advocacy, including speaking at conferences, writing blogs, and leading webinars to promote the narrative surrounding trusted Enterprise AI.
• At least 8 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a pre-sales or solutions engineering environment.
• Extensive background in Data Engineering, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
• Proficient with one or more leading cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and knowledgeable about hybrid deployment considerations (public vs. private cloud).
• Understanding that a Data Lake encompasses more than merely a storage repository.
• Familiarity with the challenges of Operations, Security, and Data Governance necessary for ensuring AI safety within the enterprise.
• Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing (e.g., Iceberg), or Relational Databases, along with a good grasp of Unix/Linux environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively whiteboarding complex architectures and gathering business requirements.
• A proactive learning attitude, a desire to explore new use cases for Cloudera technology, and a commitment to customer success.
