
Principal Software Engineer β XTM Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
β’ Establish and take ownership of the technical principles for the XTM Integration team, including architecture patterns, code quality standards, tooling selections, CI/CD methodologies, AI-assisted development workflows, and benchmarking strategies.
β’ Ensure these principles are comprehended, adopted, and consistently executed across the team.
β’ Lead the advancement of the connector/integration framework utilized by OpenCTI, OpenAEV, and OpenGRC.
β’ Make critical technical decisions regarding integration architecture, including data flow design, error management, retry strategies, observability, performance, and security.
β’ Stay informed about the evolving ecosystem by assessing new tools, libraries, and patterns ahead of the team's needs.
β’ Act as a technical steward for Filigran's open-source integration ecosystem.
β’ Establish and enforce contribution guidelines, code standards, and documentation practices that facilitate community members in developing their own connectors.
β’ Interact with the open-source community by reviewing external contributions, offering technical guidance, and representing Filigran's engineering culture publicly.
β’ Design integration APIs and SDKs with a focus on enhancing the external developer experience.
β’ Actively participate in the XTM Foundation as a full member.
β’ 8+ years of experience in software engineering, demonstrating a history of technical leadership in complex, production-grade systems.
β’ Extensive expertise in Python, as it is the primary language of the XTM Integration ecosystem.
β’ Strong understanding of integration and data pipeline patterns, including event-driven architectures, ETL/ELT, API design (REST, GraphQL, webhooks), authentication flows, rate limiting, and error recovery.
β’ Proven capability to define and uphold technical standards; you have been the one who elevates the team's performance rather than merely following existing standards.
β’ A robust open-source mindset, recognizing the importance of building software for an external community rather than just for internal users.
β’ Exceptional written communication skills; you can produce design documents, contribution guides, or code review comments that are informative and educational for others.
β’ Comfortable operating in a remote-first, asynchronous culture; an effective communicator in English.
β’ A sense of autonomy and ownership; you proactively address challenges, seek resolutions without waiting for permission, and empower others instead of becoming a bottleneck.
β’ Bonus: Experience with cybersecurity tools (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, threat intelligence platforms); familiarity with STIX/TAXII or other CTI standards; previous experience in open-source maintainership.
