Principal Software Engineer – Authentication & Access

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the accuracy, security, and uniformity of authentication and access systems throughout the platform.

• Develop and refine authentication workflows, authorization models, and session lifecycle processes.

• Ensure correctness and consistency of various protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, etc.).

• Set standards and promote the use of uniform authentication and access patterns among teams.

• Design and assess secure, state-machine-driven authentication processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering with accountability for critical production systems.

• Proficient in backend development (Ruby, Node.js, or similar technologies).

• Experience in building and managing authentication, authorization, and API-based services within distributed environments.

• Strong grasp of REST APIs, service contracts, and software design principles.

• Proven experience in creating secure, dependable systems with rigorous testing practices across unit, integration, and service levels.

• Familiarity with building and managing services in AWS or comparable cloud environments.

• Willingness to engage in a mandatory 24/7 on-call rotation.

• Experience with, or a keen interest in, AI-driven development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor).
