This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Act as a visionary thought leader, driving an innovative outlook for our diverse range of products and platforms, while designing and implementing strategic machine learning (ML) solutions that foster business-wide innovation.
• Lead the complete software development lifecycle, which includes design, testing, deployment, and operations, while steering technical discussions and strategies, and actively participating in design reviews, code evaluations, and implementations.
• Develop high-performance, production-ready machine learning code for our next-generation real-time ML platform, while enhancing existing ML libraries and frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with fellow engineers and scientists to spearhead solutions that expedite model development, validation, and experimentation cycles, as well as integrate models and algorithms into production systems at an extensive scale.
• Mentor and nurture other engineers within the team, setting technical direction and promoting a positive team culture.
• Maintain the highest standards of technical excellence in engineering and operational practices, constructing resilient and scalable systems, and advocating for operational and process enhancements.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
• Over 12 years of experience across the entire software development lifecycle, including design, coding, code reviews, testing, build processes, deployments, and operations.
• At least 7 years of programming experience, with expertise in at least one programming language, preferably Python or Java.
• A minimum of 5 years leading the design and architecture of large distributed systems, ideally on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with distributed data and machine learning technologies (e.g., MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka, PySpark, SageMaker, etc.).
• Proven experience as a mentor, tech lead, or in leading an engineering team.
• Skilled in addressing complex, ambiguous, or undefined challenges.
