This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

• Establish and uphold the enterprise data architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment between data strategy and long-term business objectives as well as technology goals.
• Spearhead the design and advancement of data platforms, including data warehouse and lake-house architectures.
• Develop and advocate for a Data Mesh strategy that promotes domain-oriented data ownership, self-service data infrastructure, and federated governance.
• Design and manage enterprise data integration patterns, which encompass batch ETL, real-time streaming, and event-driven architectures.
• Set standards for data pipelines, transformation logic, lineage tracking, and integration frameworks across both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Lead initiatives to prepare the organization's data for AI applications, enhancing support for machine learning and AI projects.
• Promote the adoption of data contracts and a data product mindset to enhance reliability and trust in data assets.
• Oversee the design of Master Data Management integrations and provide technical leadership for MDM initiatives.
• Serve as a strategic consultant on data projects across various business units, ensuring architectural integrity and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Offer technical mentorship and architectural advice to data engineers, BI developers, and MDM Software Engineers.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in data engineering, software development, or data architecture roles.
• At least 5 years in a senior or principal-level data architecture role with responsibility for enterprise-scale data programs.
• In-depth expertise in data warehousing strategies, including Inmon, Kimball, and lake-house architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in designing Data Mesh architecture, encompassing domain ownership models and data product definitions.
• Strong background in ETL/ELT design and data integration patterns, covering batch, micro-batch, and streaming techniques.
• Practical experience with enterprise integration platforms such as Kafka, dbt, Airflow, or their equivalents.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or Google BigQuery.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, Scala, or Java, along with experience in modern software delivery practices.
• Comprehensive understanding of Master Data Management principles, tools, and implementation approaches.
• Willingness to travel to the Middle Tennessee area 2-4 times a year for team meetings.
