Principal Biostatistician – Biomarker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Collaborates with representatives from various functions to plan, implement, and evaluate all biomarker components of clinical trials or biomarker studies in the capacity of the biomarker statistician, while taking on the role of project biomarker statistician under the mentorship of an experienced statistician.

• Develops the Biomarker Evaluation Plan for the study as necessary, ensuring coherence across projects.

• Offers statistical insights during clinical development discussions, including the application of AI and ML methodologies.

• Organizes and coordinates statistical activities related to biomarker research and development for specific studies and projects.

• Conducts and designs advanced data analyses for genomics and biomarker statistics, which includes statistical programming and the design of complex analytical algorithms.

• Takes responsibility for the creation and accuracy of the Biomarker Evaluation Report concerning statistical deliverables and results interpretation.

• Works autonomously on routine and complex statistical inquiries, modeling, and tasks.

• Develops and enforces standard processes for the analysis of routine parts of biomarker assessments.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively, as needed.

• Minimal supervision required.

• Experience with AI and ML methodologies.

• Prior experience in independently managing biomarker studies is essential.

• Experience in clinical trials, preferably within the industry.

• Strong understanding of biomarker evaluation, particularly in immunology and infections, type I diabetes, relevant parameters, and the underlying biology.

• Proficient in statistical programming languages, including R (Bioconductor package and other relevant R packages for genetic data) and Python.

• Experience in analyzing high-dimensional data.
