Principal Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop and refine the architectural strategy, reference models, and target states for the CPaaS platform.

• Influence technology direction through standardization, simplification, and investments in the platform.

• Coordinate architectural initiatives across various domains, including resilience, security, compliance, observability, and developer experience.

• Advocate for architectural practices and governance, such as ADRs and Well-Architected practices.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to convert business requirements into scalable solutions.

• Offer practical assistance in addressing complex architectural challenges.

• Articulate the architectural vision and decisions to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Mentor engineers and architects while actively contributing to internal communities and best practices.

• Embrace AI-assisted engineering as a fundamental aspect of contemporary software practice, utilizing AI tools to enhance design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, while guiding the team in adopting effective patterns and evolving best practices for AI-enabled workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven skills and experience in a senior architecture position with responsibilities spanning multiple teams, products, or shared platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to utilize architectural practices to drive and deliver measurable business value while minimizing unnecessary costs.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud-native and distributed systems architectures, preferably on AWS.

• Significant experience with SaaS, API-based, and developer-facing platforms; experience in the CPaaS or communications domain is advantageous.

• Proficiency in modern technologies and practices, including microservices, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures (Kafka), CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Established capability to apply structured architectural techniques—such as capability mapping, ADRs, and C4 diagrams—in practical and proportionate manners.

• Excellent communication and influencing abilities, with the capacity to align stakeholders and drive decisions without formal authority.

• Experience in balancing architectural consistency with team autonomy in fast-paced, agile engineering environments.
