Principal Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Establish and refine the architectural strategy, reference models, and target states for the CPaaS platform.

• Influence technology direction via standardization, simplification, and strategic platform investments.

• Lead initiatives across various domains focusing on architecture (resilience, security, compliance, observability, developer experience).

• Oversee architecture governance through reviews, architectural decision records (ADRs), and Well-Architected practices.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to convert business requirements into scalable solutions.

• Offer hands-on assistance in addressing complex architectural challenges.

• Articulate the architectural vision and decisions to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Guide engineers and architects while actively participating in internal communities and promoting best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven skills and experience in a senior architecture position with responsibility spanning multiple teams, products, or shared platforms.

• Demonstrated experience in utilizing architectural practices to drive measurable business value and minimize unnecessary costs.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud-native and distributed system architectures, preferably on AWS.

• Strong background in SaaS, API-based platforms, and developer-facing solutions; experience in the CPaaS or communications domain is advantageous.

• Expertise in contemporary technologies and methodologies: microservices, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures (Kafka), CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Established ability to implement structured architectural techniques — capability mapping, ADRs, C4 diagrams — in practical and proportionate manners.

• Outstanding communication and influencing capabilities, with a talent for aligning stakeholders and making decisions without formal authority.

• Experience in balancing architectural consistency with team autonomy within dynamic, agile engineering environments.
