• Join a team dedicated to implementing technology solutions that align with our business strategy and drive significant value.

• Define and work collaboratively on developing roadmaps, architectures, standards, best practice documents, and initial code reference implementations to expedite delivery for our technology teams, focusing on the future direction of CVS Health with an emphasis on applied AI.

• Analyze market trends, make decisions on whether to buy or build solutions, and evaluate costs along with their impacts on targeted business results.

• Establish a future state architecture that facilitates and embraces strategies for Artificial Intelligence, APIs, data storage, cloud infrastructures, cloud services, and microservices.

• Collaborate and consult with technology and business partners to enhance business applications and systems that utilize modern architectures and technologies, particularly in the realm of AI.

• Create and maintain a strategic vision that supports capabilities aligned with the CVS Health platform, driven by key business factors and technology trends.

• Define and work together on frameworks for the enterprise that encourage reuse, reduce costs, manage risks, and accelerate time to market.

• Successfully build and sustain strong relationships with technology and business partners to foster trust and influence critical business outcomes and decisions.

• Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to engineers and stakeholders regarding the architecture and design of their respective applications.

• Ensure all Non-Functional Requirements (such as performance, availability and fail-over, scalability, security, etc.) are clearly articulated, and collaborate with all parties to ensure that the delivered software products meet these objectives.

• Participate in high-level estimation activities.

• Mentor and coach junior architects while seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant work experience (8+ years in architecture).

• 10+ years of experience in developing large-scale business applications with modern technologies and architectures.

• 10+ years of experience designing complex integrations with an emphasis on performance engineering and loose coupling via APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture.

• 8+ years of experience and proficiency with modern programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.

• 6+ years of experience in facilitating the implementation of north star architectures by delivery teams through mentoring, building POCs, starter code, and other collaborative efforts.

• Expert-level understanding of architectural methodologies/best practices, the business environment, and/or regulations that influence architectural decisions.

• A recognized technical leader with comprehensive full-stack technology knowledge, acknowledged as an expert in one or more technical areas.

• Ability to identify the impact that architectural strategies can have on strategic business decisions.

• Extensive experience in requirements analysis, estimation, systems and application design, and testing.

• Familiarity with defining architecture using the C4 model or similar, with a focus on system context, container, and component diagrams.

• In-depth understanding of architectural methodologies and the establishment of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and best practices.

• A varied technical background with significant expertise in AI/ML/Agentic AI, cloud technologies, data platforms, hybrid solutions, and operating at scale.

• Experience in requirements analysis, estimation, systems design, and application design.

• Strong collaboration, influencing, negotiation, coaching, and coalition-building skills.
