Presales Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Account Executives to identify customer challenges and objectives, effectively conveying Sumo Logic’s value proposition, vision, and strategy.

• Successfully close complex opportunities by leveraging advanced competitive insight, technical expertise, and credibility.

• Comprehend and facilitate all stages of the sales cycle, including leading technical validations during the Proof of Value phase.

• Thrive while engaging with all organizational levels, from executives to individual developers and Site Reliability Engineers.

• Provide product and technical demonstrations of the Sumo Logic service.

• Collaborate across teams with Product Management and Engineering to enhance the Sumo Logic service based on customer interactions.

• Exhibit a "hunter/farmer mentality" to establish technical relationships with prospects and customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree in the same fields is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer (preferred), Solutions Architect (preferred), Sales Engineer (preferred), Implementation Consultant, Support Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or a Software Developer with experience in leading projects and/or customer interactions.

• Practical knowledge of security-related products, technologies, and sources such as IDS/IPS, SIEM/Log Management, Network/Endpoint Security, Threat Detection, Incident Response, MSSP/MDR, Threat Feeds, CASB, etc.

• Experience with open-source solutions (Telegraf, FluentBit, FluentD, Open Telemetry, etc.) is preferred.

• Familiarity with leading and conducting technical validations like Proof of Value is preferred.

• Background in selling and working with pure SaaS solutions in multi-tenant architectures.

• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure (certification is preferred).

• A comprehensive understanding of technical infrastructure (servers, networking devices, storage, etc.).

• Understanding of modern application architecture (micro-services, containers) and experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Lambda is preferred.

• Familiarity with various monitoring tools like Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, New Relic, etc. is preferred.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment, with experience at a successful startup being preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, along with strong business and technical acumen.
