Pharmacy Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure adherence to service standards and the realization of performance targets and objectives.

• Generate reports and maintain records as requested or necessary.

• Create, implement, and deliver training initiatives for all levels of pharmacy staff.

• Coordinate the training timetable with management team members.

• Develop and sustain ongoing educational resources to aid pharmacy personnel in mastering specialized pharmacy systems.

• Assess trainees to gauge their progress and evaluate the effectiveness of the training provided.

• Undertake additional job-related responsibilities as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is required; some college coursework is preferred.

• PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification) is mandatory.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a pharmacy setting is required.

• Previous experience in training on pharmacy systems is preferred.

• Must be detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and possess strong self-motivation skills.

• General knowledge of accepted pharmacy principles, practices, and procedures, as well as familiarity with pharmaceutical generic and trade names, basic mathematics, and personal computing.

• Ability to utilize a computer for accessing patient/drug information systems.

• Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals, ensuring optimal pharmacy support.

• Experience in typing prescriptions is required.

• Understanding of pharmacy accreditation and certification standards, including ACHC and URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation.
