This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Conduct research to determine all necessary permits, licenses, and registrations for new parking facilities in the areas where AirGarage operates.
• Prepare and file applications for permits and licenses, ensuring all documentation is precise and submitted punctually.
• Liaise with local government agencies to monitor the status of applications and address any issues or discrepancies that arise.
• Oversee the management of our Avalara license management software.
• Collaborate closely with our regional and central operations teams to stay informed about regulatory changes that could affect our business.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of all permits and licenses, tracking expiration dates, renewal requirements, and associated fees.
• Actively manage permit renewals to ensure ongoing compliance, submitting renewal applications well ahead of expiration dates.
• Keep abreast of changes in local and state regulations that may affect permitting or licensing needs and adjust processes accordingly.
• Work in tandem with the finance team to ensure adherence to all pertinent tax obligations, including sales tax, business & occupation (B&O) tax, and specialized taxes like commercial parking taxes.
• Investigate tax requirements in each jurisdiction and ensure proper registration, filing, and payment timelines are adhered to.
• Perform thorough research into local permitting and tax regulations, often navigating vague or complex procedures.
• Communicate directly with city and state officials through phone calls, emails, or in-person meetings to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Document findings and establish standardized processes for recurring compliance tasks to enhance efficiency.
• Maintain detailed records of all permitting and tax-related activities, including applications, correspondence, and approvals.
• Utilize project management tools to monitor deadlines, prioritize tasks, and guarantee that no permits or tax filings are overlooked.
• Provide regular updates to the operations team regarding compliance status for all facilities.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a compliance, permitting, or regulatory role, ideally in commercial real estate or a related field (though not mandatory).
• Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in navigating governmental processes, such as applying for permits or licenses, is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Avalara software is an advantage.
• Understanding of tax compliance (e.g., sales tax, business taxes) is beneficial.
