Partnerships Lead – Weaver Bird Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Drive the formulation of Canopy's comprehensive partnership strategy across the organization.

• Identify and prioritize strategic partnerships that can enhance leverage, credibility, capacity, and scale.

• Evaluate the partnership landscape to uncover opportunities, identify gaps, and recognize emerging stakeholders.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with coalitions, alliances, NGOs, standard-setting bodies, technical partners, and other key stakeholders.

• Act as Canopy's representative in significant external forums and strategic discussions.

• Assist leadership in negotiations and stewardship of high-value partnerships.

• Create partnership frameworks that outline objectives, roles, governance structures, and success metrics.

• Transform relationships into tangible collaborations, joint initiatives, and ecosystem development efforts.

• Ensure that partnerships are in alignment with Canopy's strategic priorities and are integrated into various campaigns and initiatives.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to synchronize partnerships with internal teams and priorities.

• Establish systems and processes for tracking, prioritizing, and ensuring accountability in partnerships.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience in partnerships, strategy, external relations, or similar leadership positions.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex, high-value partnerships across diverse sectors and stakeholder groups.

• Strong strategic judgment with a knack for identifying leverage points.

• Exceptional relationship management abilities, characterized by credibility, diplomacy, and adeptness in navigating complexity.

• Excellent communication skills, including the capacity to craft compelling partnership narratives and translate strategy into actionable steps.

• Preference for candidates with experience in sustainability, nature, climate, forest conservation, supply chains, corporate engagement, or systems change.

• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and align a variety of internal and external stakeholders with shared objectives.

• Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with multiple moving components and changing opportunities.

• Experience with alliances, coalitions, standards organizations, or multi-stakeholder initiatives is highly valued.

• A strong passion for environmental conservation, social impact, or mission-driven initiatives is strongly preferred.
