Outpatient Coding Auditor – Surgical Specialty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct audits on outpatient surgical encounters, including operative reports and associated documentation

• Confirm the accurate assignment of CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and relevant APCs

• Ensure adherence to CMS, payer, and official coding standards

• Detect trends, risks, and educational opportunities based on audit outcomes

• Deliver written audit feedback and coding training to facilitate quality enhancement

• Collaborate with coding leadership and quality teams to resolve identified issues

• Uphold necessary productivity, accuracy, and turnaround time standards

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in outpatient coding audits with a specialization in surgical fields

• In-depth understanding of CPT (Surgery section), ICD-10-CM, and modifier application

• Proficient in auditing operative reports and post-operative documentation

• Knowledgeable about CMS guidelines, NCCI edits, and payer-specific regulations

• Capability to clearly document audit results and recommendations
